Who we are

Holistic Garden Labs is a trading name of Eiger, a company registered in Hungary. We decide how the personal data described here is used (in legal terms, we’re the ‘controller’). Questions about your data: hello@holisticgardenlabs.com.

Your garden

Your plants, map, photos, notes and jobs are stored in your own iCloud account and synced between your devices. We can’t see or access them. If you share a garden, the people you invite can see that garden.

You can delete your garden, or everything, at any time in the app under More › Your data.

Plant checks

When you ask for a plant check, the photos you pick and your garden’s location are sent through our relay to Plant.id, run by Kindwise (FlowerChecker s.r.o., Brno, Czech Republic), which identifies the plant or the problem. The location helps it suggest plants that grow where you live.

Our relay passes the request on and keeps no photos, names or locations. It only counts how many checks you’ve used, against an anonymous ID for your device or App Store purchase. Kindwise handles the photos under its own terms and privacy policy. Only send photos you’re happy to share, ideally just of plants.

Weather and location

You choose where your garden is. That location is saved with your garden in your iCloud and used to fetch weather from Apple Weather, so Apple receives it when the forecast is updated. If you tap ‘use my current location’, it’s used once to find your garden; we don’t track where you go.

Reminders and Todoist

Holistic Gardener’s own reminders are created on your device. If you choose to connect Todoist, your garden jobs are sent to your Todoist account and handled under Doist’s privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time.

Payments

Apple handles all payments. We never see your card details, name or Apple account; Apple only tells the app whether your subscription is active.

Analytics

The app has no analytics or advertising trackers. If you’ve agreed to it in your device settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this page first and keep it privacy-friendly.

This website

No adverts, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Our fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) for a short time to keep the site secure. A cookie is only set if you log in to manage the site.

If you email us, we use your message to reply and keep it only as long as we need to. If you ask to hear when an app launches, we’ll use your email address for that and nothing else; reply at any time and we’ll remove it.

Holistic Garden Designer

Designer hasn’t launched yet. It’s being built without accounts, and your designs will stay in your browser unless you save them. We’ll update this page before it launches.

Who else is involved

• Apple: iCloud, App Store payments and Apple Weather
• Kindwise (Plant.id): plant identification and health checks
• Cloudflare: runs our plant-check relay
• Doist (Todoist): only if you connect it
• Our web host and email provider: this website and our inbox

Some of these companies may handle data outside the European Union. When they do, they use the safeguards GDPR requires.

Why we’re allowed to use your data

We use data to give you the app and features you’ve asked for, to keep things secure and running, to answer your messages and (for launch news) because you asked us to.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, delete or hand over the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Most of your data is in your own iCloud, so you’re already in control of it. To ask, email hello@holisticgardenlabs.com. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH) or the authority where you live.

Children

Our apps aren’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For anything significant, we’ll let you know in the app as well.
